Matriculants Tackle Final Exams: Here Are the Key Dates

The 2023 National Senior Certificate (NSC) and Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric exams have started. More than 920,000 candidates are scheduled to write their exams this year.

NSC Matric Exam Dates

• Monday, 30 October: English Home Language (HL, FAL)
• Tuesday, 31 October: Economics, Arabic (HL, FAL, SAL), French (HL, FAL, SAL)
• Wednesday, 1 November: Afrikaans (HL, FAL, SAL)
• Thursday, 2 November: History, Engineering Graphics and Design
• Friday, 3 November: Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Technical Mathematics

IEB Matric Exam Dates

• Tuesday, 12 September: Exams start
• Tuesday, 28 November: Exams end
