A private plane has crashed at the Imperial War Museum airfield in Cambridgeshire, leading to the closure of the venue to visitors.
The incident occurred shortly after 1:40 pm at Duxford Airfield, with emergency services rushing to the scene to respond to the situation.
Response Efforts and Venue Closure
Emergency services, including Cambridge Fire and Rescue Service and Cambridgeshire Police, are currently on-site dealing with the aftermath of the crash.
According to a spokesperson from IWM Duxford, the venue will remain closed to visitors on Wednesday and Thursday, with plans to reopen to the public on Friday.
Details of Emergency Response
Cambridge Fire and Rescue Service received the initial report of the plane crash at 1:41 pm and dispatched multiple units, including four fire engines and a water carrier, to the scene.
Firefighters assisted other emergency services and conducted scene safety operations, ultimately leaving the scene around 4 pm.
Ongoing Investigation
Cambridgeshire Police were notified of the incident at 13:41 GMT and have since deployed officers to the scene.
