Nigerian Reps To Investigate Alleged Missing Firearms, Ammunition

The Nigerian House of Representatives has said that it will investigate the suspected disappearance of over 178 thousand rifles and ammunition belonging to the Nigerian police force since 2019.
This is a follow-up to the Auditor-report General’s to the House’s Public Accounts Committee.
According to the report, the rifles and ammunition that the police claim to have purchased are unaccounted for.
Due to the current situation of insecurity in the country, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House presented the issue on Thursday as a motion of urgent public significance.
