Now, new probate documents have revealed just how thoughtful West was in planning his legacy.
From his estate, valued at just under £110,000 after deductions, he left meaningful gifts to several causes close to his heart.
One of the largest donations, £15,000, went to The Combined Theatrical Charities Appeals Council—an organisation dedicated to supporting the UK’s stage community.
It’s a fitting tribute from a man who spent a lifetime on the boards.
Supporting the Arts and Humanitarian Efforts
West also gave £10,000 each to the Bristol Old Vic and Theatre Royal Trust, Southwark Cathedral, and the Snipe Charitable Trust, which backs various arts initiatives.
In a nod to global humanitarian needs, he included Médecins Sans Frontières UK (Doctors Without Borders) among the beneficiaries—again, gifting £10,000.

Even Guide Dogs for the Blind Association didn’t go unnoticed.
West left them £5,000, perhaps recognising the profound companionship and independence these animals bring to those with sight loss.
