ASUU declares “comprehensive and total” strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU has declared a “complete and comprehensive” strike.
Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, the President of ASUU, announced the strike at a news conference on Monday.
Since Saturday, members of the union’s National Executive Council have been holding lengthy meetings at the University of Lagos dubbed “NEC for NEC.”
ASUU had educated and mobilized lecturers and students across the country about the reasons for the union’s impending strike.
