…By Dorcas Funmi for TDPel Media. Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the last election, has issued an apology to Nigerian graduates from a Chinese university for an omission on social media.
A few days ago, Obi congratulated Ifeoma Amuche, a Nigerian student who recently emerged as the best graduating student at South West University, China.
However, he regrets that he inadvertently left out the names of four other Nigerian schoolmates of Ifeoma, who also received similar awards.
Expressing appreciation to all the students for bringing honor to Nigeria, Obi hopes that their achievements will open more global opportunities for them.
He extends his congratulations to the four excelling Nigerians, namely; Chioma Chukwuemeka, Oraka Chiamaka, Akpata Johnson, and Chinedu Wilson, who respectively received the Excellent International Students Award from South West University, China.
He acknowledges their academic exploits that earned them international recognition.
Obi emphasizes the need for greater investment in education and equipping Nigerian youths with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute productively to the development of Nigeria and compete on a global scale.
He believes that the accomplishments of these students will open doors for them and inspire them to achieve even greater things that will benefit both Nigeria and the world at large.
Concluding his statement, Obi remains hopeful that Nigerians in the diaspora will play a significant role in building the desired New Nigeria in the future, contributing immeasurably to the nation’s development.
