German climate activist Naomi Seibt seeks asylum in the United States with Elon Musk’s support after claiming her life is in danger in Germany

Once celebrated as the “anti-Greta Thunberg,” German activist Naomi Seibt now finds herself living in fear — not of climate change, but for her own safety.

The 25-year-old says she’s fled Germany and applied for asylum in the United States, claiming political persecution for her right-wing views — and she’s doing it with Elon Musk’s personal support.

Elon Musk Steps In to Help

Seibt, who first gained fame at just 19 as the poster girl for a conservative think tank fighting climate activism, says she has been “harassed and threatened” in her home country for backing the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Seibt said she made the decision to apply for asylum after speaking directly with Musk.

“Elon has been terrified to go to Europe and knows the high threat there,” she claimed.

“He confirmed this to me personally, and that’s when I decided to apply for asylum. He gave me his approval.”

The activist says she is currently in the U.S. “legally” and is waiting for an asylum interview that she hopes will allow her to stay permanently.

Her goal, she says, is to one day become an American citizen — a country she calls “a symbol of hope.”

Claims of Persecution Back Home

According to Seibt, her outspoken political stance has made her a target in Germany.

She alleges that authorities have been spying on her, threatening her, and ignoring the danger she faces from left-wing groups such as Antifa.

“I went to the police,” she said, “and they told me they can’t do anything unless I’ve actually been raped or killed.

I’m not getting any protection from the government, even though I’m at major risk.”

Seibt insists that despite Germany’s laws protecting free speech, she could be arrested the moment she returns home simply for criticizing politicians or government policies.

The Asylum Bid and Trump’s New Immigration Rules

Seibt’s asylum application comes as former President Donald Trump’s revised asylum laws reportedly give preference to white Europeans and South Africans, a change she hopes to benefit from.

Her supporters — including Musk — believe her case highlights what they see as growing intolerance toward conservative voices in Europe.

Musk has boosted her posts on X (formerly Twitter) multiple times, publicly defending her right to speak freely.

From Teen Spokesperson to Global Controversy

Seibt rose to prominence in 2020 when she was featured in a viral YouTube video by the conservative Heartland Institute, which opposes mainstream climate change science.

The clip positioned her as a direct contrast to Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, the face of the global climate movement.

In the video, Seibt boldly declares, “The world is not ending because of climate change.”

She accused environmental activists of spreading fear and guilt among young people.

“We’re being fed a dystopian message that we’re destroying the planet and have no future,” she said.

Her Criticism of Greta Thunberg

In another video titled “Naomi Seibt vs. Greta Thunberg – Whom Should We Trust?”, both young women are shown expressing their opposing views.

Seibt refers to Thunberg’s message as “climate alarmism,” admitting she once believed in it herself.

“I was an innocent young girl,” she recalled. “I thought by hugging trees I could save the planet — but it turned out not to be true.”

Seibt went on to argue that the climate movement has become anti-science and anti-human, saying, “We’re told to feel ashamed of our achievements and to ignore the benefits of using fossil fuels.

We’re living in an amazing era of innovation, yet real debate is being shut down.”

Musk’s Influence and Her Political Turn

Seibt’s relationship with Elon Musk began online after he started retweeting her videos and comments, including her controversial claim that the Magdeburg Christmas market attack was carried out by Islamists — an allegation that remains unproven.

In one post, she wrote, “Elon Musk is right — only the AfD can save Germany.”

The endorsement sparked outrage in her home country but further strengthened her profile among right-wing supporters in the U.S.

Awaiting a New Life in America

For now, Naomi Seibt remains in the United States, waiting to hear if her asylum request will be approved.

She says she’s grateful for the support she’s received and still believes in her mission to “speak the truth without fear.”

“My dream,” she said, “is to live in a place where I don’t have to be afraid to talk about what I believe.”

The White House has yet to comment on her asylum claim.
