NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) – The High Court has refused to give bail to Stephen Arap soi, a former Nock executive, pending the outcome of his appeal in the Rio 2016 case.
Lady justice Esther Maina indicated in her ruling that Soi can be treated in prison and that his appeal should be processed quickly.
Soi was sentenced to prison after failing to pay a Sh105.6 million fine.
In his application Soi has said that he is an elderly man aged 65 and is worried that his health might deteriorate while in prison.
He claims that he was convicted of crimes he allegedly committed in Nairobi but at the time he was in Rio, Brazil.
