After being jailed on fraud allegations, Osita Okechukwu, Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), has been released, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Following an invitation about a case involving suspected conspiracy, abuse of authority, and misuse of public funds, the VON DG, who was questioned for allegedly embezzling N1.3 billion, came at EFCC headquarters in Abuja on January 29 around 1:30 pm.
Wilson Uwujaren, a spokesman for the EFCC, confirmed his release on Saturday, February 5.
Osita was “released on Monday,” according to Uwujaren, who also stated that the inquiry will continue.
