Section of Langata Road closed as Footbridge near Nyayo roundabout collapses

On Saturday, a traffic jam formed along Langata road after a foot bridge being erected near the Nyayo stadium roundabout collapsed.
A driver was hurt, according to authorities, during the incident, which also included three cranes.
“Yes, a driver was hurt after a footbridge under construction near Nyayo Stadium Roundabout collapsed on three cranes, prompting the closure of Langata Road,” Nairobi Traffic Police Chief Joshua Omukata said over the phone to Capital Fm.
Omukata urged motorists to cooperate with traffic police officers as they diverted traffic to other roads.
“The footbridge was being raised when it collapsed on the cranes on site.”
