Sheikha Fatima receives Tanzanian President

ABU DHABI, 25th February, 2022 – H.

Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), today received Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania, who is currently visiting the UAE.

During the meeting which took place at the Al Reef Palace, Sheikha Fatima welcomed Tanzanian President to the country, wishing her a successful stay.

Sheikha Fatima and President Hassan then discussed their cooperation in the areas of the family, childhood and women’s empowerment.

Tanzanian President commended the pioneering role of Sheikha Fatima in empowering women, protecting children and promoting the role of the family, lauding her humanitarian and charity efforts.

She also noted the importance of the “Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Women, Peace and Security Initiative,” held in partnership with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).

Under this framework, she commended the UAE’s developmental support for Tanzania, thanking Sheikha Fatima for her warm welcome and hospitality.

Sheikha Fatima held a luncheon for President Hassan, which was attended by several Sheikhas and the Tanzanian delegation.
