Vicky Pattison is still feeling the sting of her Strictly departure, and she didn’t hold back when she joined It Takes Two on Wednesday night.
The 38-year-old presenter, who appeared visibly emotional throughout the interview, opened up about the moment she realized her time on the show was coming to an end.
Alongside her professional partner Kai Widdrington, 30, Vicky reflected on the tense results show that landed them in the dance-off.
After facing EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, the pair were ultimately voted out following their Jive—and Vicky admitted she sensed their fate the second their names were called.
Knowing the End Was Coming
Despite topping the leaderboard the week before with a fiery Tango, Vicky said she always knew the Jive wasn’t her dance.
She told host Janette Manrara that the nerves she’s battled since the start of the competition crept back in during the crucial moment.
“I’m still such an anxious girl,” she said. “When we landed in the dance-off, I just felt the writing on the wall.
My heart broke for Kai because he did everything he possibly could—as a pro, as a partner, as a friend.
He gave me everything. I just don’t have a dance-off in my locker.”
Vicky became teary as her best moments on the show played out on screen, calling her Strictly journey “one of the most special things” she’s ever done.
What Strictly Meant to Her
Trying to keep her emotions in check, Vicky talked about how transformative the entire experience had been.
“If you put your mind to something, step outside your comfort zone, work hard, and be kind… amazing things really can happen,” she said.
“You’re never too old to try something new.”
Fans rushed to X to share their sadness about her exit—though some admitted they were somewhat distracted by her daring neckline.
Comments ranged from “Still devastated about Kai and Vicky” to “She’s going to fall out of that dress in a minute!”
Clearing Up Her Monday Night Absence
Earlier this week, Vicky also addressed why she wasn’t on It Takes Two the night after her elimination, as is usually the tradition.
She explained on social media that Strictly bosses generously let her skip it so she could enjoy her birthday.
Posting a cheerful snap of herself blowing out candles, she wrote:
“A gorgeous evening celebrating with my friends and family! Sorry if anyone was expecting to see me on It Takes Two tonight—my lovely Strictly family gave me the night off for my birthday!”
She promised viewers she and Kai would be on Wednesday’s episode—which she delivered on.
A Goodbye Filled With Gratitude
Vicky later shared a heartfelt tribute to Kai and the rest of the Strictly team, calling the entire journey “one of the best things” she’s ever done.
“I’m going to miss my beautiful Strictly family so much,” she wrote.
“To my Kai—thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve been the best partner and such a wonderful friend.”
She also thanked fans for their kindness and support throughout the series: “You helped make a little girl’s dream come true.”
A Sparkling Finish to a Special Journey
Although her time on the Strictly dance floor has come to a close, Vicky says she’ll be cheering on the remaining contestants—especially as they head to Blackpool, one of the biggest weeks of the season.
And judging by the outpouring of love online, viewers will be missing her just as much.
